Crosswind Mechanical ("Crosswind Mechanical," "we," "us," or "our") is a commercial HVAC and refrigeration contractor based in Allen Park, Michigan. We serve businesses and other commercial customers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit crosswindmechanical.com (the "Site"), call us, or contact us, how we use that information, and the choices you have.


By using the Site or contacting us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.


1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a contact, quote, or service request form on the Site, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your business or company name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Any message or details you choose to include (for example, equipment type, location, or the service you need)


Our forms also include an optional checkbox to receive marketing emails from us. Checking this box is not required to submit a form or to do business with us.


If you email or call us directly, we collect the information you choose to share in that communication.


Information collected when you call us

We use a call tracking service called WhatConverts to understand which ads and web pages lead customers to contact us. To do this, the Site may show a different phone number depending on how you arrived (for example, from a Google ad, a search result, or another website). This is called dynamic number swapping. All of these numbers ring through to Crosswind Mechanical.


When you call one of these numbers, we may collect:

  • Your phone number and caller ID information (such as name and general location, if provided by your carrier)
  • The date, time, and length of the call
  • How you found us (for example, the ad, search keyword, referring website, or page you were on)


Calls may be recorded and transcribed for quality, training, and record-keeping purposes. Where required by law, we will let you know at the start of the call that it may be recorded. If you do not want your call recorded, you may contact us by email instead.


Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, such as:

  • IP address and general location (such as city or region)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view, links you click, and how long you stay
  • The website, ad, or search that brought you to the Site
  • Cookie identifiers and similar technical data


We collect this information using cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies, described below.


2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device. We and our service providers use cookies and similar tools to make the Site work, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising.


The tools we use include:

  • Website platform. The Site is built on the Engage website platform, which runs on Duda. The platform may use cookies needed to operate and secure the Site.
  • Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to manage the tags and scripts on the Site. Tag Manager itself does not collect personal information but helps deploy the tools listed here.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are popular and how visitors find us.   • Google Ads conversion tracking. We advertise through Google Ads and use conversion tracking to measure when someone who clicked one of our ads later contacts us or submits a form.
  • WhatConverts. As described above, WhatConverts uses cookies and scripts to show tracking phone numbers and connect calls and form submissions to the ads or pages that led to them.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel. We may use the Meta pixel to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and to show ads to people who have visited our Site.


Your cookie choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as intended. You can also manage Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com Facebook ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences.


Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them.


3. Enhanced Conversions (Google Ads)

We use a Google Ads feature called enhanced conversions. When you submit a form on the Site, certain contact information you provide (such as your email address, phone number, or name) may be converted into a scrambled code (a process called "hashing") before it is sent to Google. Google uses this hashed data to match the form submission to a Google account so we can better measure how well our ads are working. Hashing is designed so that the original information cannot be read from the code. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's own policies, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.


4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your questions, quote requests, and service calls
  • Schedule, perform, and follow up on HVAC and refrigeration work
  • Communicate with you about your account, projects, invoices, and service agreements
  • Send marketing emails, but only if you opted in (see "Marketing Emails" below)
  • Measure and improve our advertising, including which ads, keywords, and pages lead customers to contact us
  • Review calls for quality, training, and record-keeping
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site

5. Marketing Emails

If you check the box to receive marketing emails, we may send you news, seasonal maintenance reminders, offers, or other information about our services. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by emailing us at service@crosswindmechanical.com. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still contact you about your service requests, projects, or account.


6. Text Messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about appointments, service updates, or your request. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that help us deliver the messages.

VERBALLY – You will be able to opt in to receive messages either in person at our physical

location, or over a phone call. During an in person or over the phone meeting, Our team will

ask if you want to be signed up for text updates. You will be asked to provide your phone

number.

By opting in, you authorize Crosswind Mechanical LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”) to send you recurring

SMS messages related to customer care and account notifications.


2. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your appointments and questions.

Message & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

4. Opt-Out

confirmation text and you will no longer receive messages.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.


We share information only as described below:

  • Service providers. We share information with companies that help us run our business and the Site, such as our website platform (Engage/Duda), call tracking (WhatConverts), advertising and analytics providers Google and Meta]), email service providers, and IT and business software providers. These providers are allowed to use the information only to perform services for us or as described in their own policies for the advertising and analytics services described above.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Crosswind Mechanical, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your permission. We may share information for other purposes with your consent.


8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. Call recordings and transcripts, form submissions, and tracking data are kept for as long as needed for these purposes and then deleted or de-identified.


9. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. For example, the Site uses encryption (HTTPS) to protect information sent through our forms. However, no website, internet transmission, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


10. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.


11. Links to Other Websites
